SCIENTIFIC INFORMATION??

PLANT DESCRIPTION (Botanical Identification) A slender, laticiferous, twining, sometimes prostate or semi-erect shrub.Leavesopposite, shortly petioled, very varibale, elliptic-oblong to linear-lanceolate, pale beneath and very frequently with a whole streak above.Roots occur in pieces, about 30 cm long and 3 – 8 mm in diameter,cylindrical, thick,hard,somewhat tortuous, scarcely branched, possessing few thick rootletsand secondary roots;external appearance dark brown, sometimes with violet-grey tinge;centre yellow, woody,surrounded by a mealy white cortical layer; bark brownish, corky,marked with transverse cracks and longitudinal fissures and easily detachable from the hard central core; odour,characteristic; taste sweetish, slightly acrid and aromatic.

GERERNAL USES

  • It is one of the best detoxifying herb which helps in cleaning the body inside out. It has got amazing health benefits as it helps to purify blood and improve skin texture as well.

For example, in case of severe gastritis, stomach ulcers and ulcerative colitis, Sariva can be very useful for the patient.
