SCIENTIFIC INFORMATION
PLANT DESCRIPTION (Botanical Identification)? :- A large climber with adventitious aerial roots growing on trees and rocks. Leaves 20-30 * 15-20 cm, leathery, ovate or ovate cordate, entire or sparingly lobed. Flowers densely arranged in spadix, which is cylindrical; spathe green outside nd yellow within Market samples of the drug consist of transversely cut circular pieces of female spadix, about 2.0-3.0 cm in diameter and 2.0-3.5 thick, brownish-grey, rough and scaly; cut surface has a central core, surrounded by fruits enclosing the seed covred partly by aril.
